Question
A person borrowed an amount from a usurious bank and bought an apartment with it. He has to pay (500) dinars every month to the bank, and he has (10,000) dinars in liquidity. Does he have to pay zakat?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is not obligatory if the wealth does not reach (100) grams of gold after all debts are deducted. However, borrowing from a usurious bank is forbidden, and one must borrow from an Islamic bank to meet their needs. And God knows best.
