I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible to wipe over it, nor is it permissible for anything that cannot be walked on due to its heaviness, such as wood and iron; because the shoe is derived from the lightness of walking in it, to the extent that there is no difference between it and its absence concerning usual walking. Walking becomes heavy in these things, so what is made from them is not called a shoe, and it is not permissible to wipe over it; because wiping is specific to the shoe, unlike the analogy.
