I say, and with God's success: It is permissible for the person in I'tikaf to sell and buy whatever he wishes from trades in the mosque, provided that the sale and purchase do not involve bringing the goods; because the mosque is a sanctuary for the rights of the servants, and it is disliked to occupy it with goods and make it like a shop; as narrated by Mu'adh that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Keep your children, disputes, boundaries, and your buying and selling away from your mosques, and purify them on the day of your gathering, and make your places of purification at their doors.” In Al-Mu'jam Al-Kabir 20: 173, and see: Al-Tayyin 1: 351, Al-Wiqayah p. 245, and Al-Mabsut 3: 122, and God knows best.
