Question
Is giving testimony considered a valid excuse for the secluded worshipper to leave their place of seclusion?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Giving testimony is not considered a sufficient excuse for the secluded worshipper to leave their seclusion. If a portion of time is spent leaving their seclusion without an excuse, even if they were forgetful, it invalidates their obligatory seclusion, which is vowed, and they must make it up. In contrast, leaving for a human need is known to occur, so it is exempted. As for the confirmed and recommended seclusion, it ends with their leaving without an excuse. Refer to: Al-Tabeen 1: 351, and God knows best.
