Question
There is a young man who works at a company and his salary is originally deposited in the Arab Bank. Sometimes he receives discounts for purchases from the bank because his salary is deposited there. He can transfer his salary to the Islamic Arab Bank, but the benefits in discounts on purchases decrease, and sometimes the salary is delayed because it is a transfer from one bank to another. Can he continue to deal with the Arab Bank only to benefit from the purchase discounts and the speed of receiving his salary?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible to deal with a riba-based bank in the presence of an Islamic bank except for necessity. Therefore, he should transfer his salary to the Islamic bank as soon as it is deposited in the riba-based bank and seek provision from Allah, not from banking privileges. And Allah knows best.
